Airplane Epiphany

Life is too brief and fragile to foster hatred. When we’re so high up, we don’t realize that our own souls are suffocating in the very venomous, poisonous breathes they speak.

Ulysses

Come, my friends,

'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.

Push off, and sitting well in order smite

The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds

To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths

Of all the western stars, until I die.

It may be that the gulfs will wash us down;

It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,

And see the great Achilles, whom we knew.

Though much is taken, much abides; and though

We are not now that strength which in old days

Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are -

One equal temper of heroic hearts,

Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will

To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

:(

My biggest enemy is my inner me.

Blue, Red, Yellow

Primary colors

.

.

.

I see in the color of blue.

It is the color of wide expanses of abundance.

The rich if you will.

Yes, when I play my cello

Rays of blue transfer from my mind to my soul

And is emitted from my soul to others’ ears.

Deep and rich in sound,

The sound waves undulate in fat paths.

.

.

.

Others may see in the color of Red.

This striking bright color is the color of a violin.

The color of sacrifice, pain, and utmost precision.

What is this terrible screech that the violin makes?

This shrill cry of terror? The shriek…

Like that of a nail against a chalkboard…

Oh. It is the cry of a widow.

She tries to maintain composure, please hold still…! “but its difficult.

And these sudden, abnormal outbursts of anguish and grief”

She explains, “are normal.”

.

.

.

The remaining have a view of yellow.

The medium; the glue, the mediator, the equalizer.

The middle class of society.

Go about, playing their violas

"Are we not important as well? Looked down upon

Are we! We will play louder! Practice more!

And show and prove our worth to this orchestra!”

.

.

.

And as the yellow play louder, I, the blue feels insulted.

Why should the yellow be dominant? for I am rich!

I am greater! Surely I am of more importance.

The Red, in amidst of this commotion, cries.

And their shrieks of sacrifice and pain are heard.

.

.

.

As all our views intertwine and intermix, we all fight for dominance.

A boldness and assertiveness of our colors results into the color of dark brown.

And only dark brown. Nothing more, nothing less.

.

.

.

Could we not sometimes each control ourselves individually?

And be present if necessary? That is, when one color is in need of assistance?

Could blue not sometimes give to red and yellow?

Does red not itself have valuable lessons to teach to yellow and blue?

Can yellow sometimes control itself and not be consumed in jealousy in the presence of blue and red?

.

.

.

If this idiotic proposition were to somehow be true one day,

Infinite colors can be produced.

Beautiful paintings of unending imaginations can be created into being.

And orchestras can boast of their sophistication and intricacies of

Harmonies and melodies working together.

Shedding tears in audiences.

Allowing their ears to listen breathtaking music;

And their souls to experience freedom at its best.

.

.

- Note -

I have no political views. really i dont find the need to have one yet, until i have the ability to vote, which may seem really ignorant and childish. i just dont find a point in exposing myself to that yet. i do think that people should help others (out of kind intention, not because some tax forces them to pay money for welfare programs), and that the low people of society have valuable lessons to teach the rich, and that the middle class people are a big part of society as well.

The Irony of Love

You came running from a crowd…

to me, in tears. Bawling, yet perplexed, you cried,

"they say they are trying to protect us…

and that we don’t understand…

they think they know better than us…

they scoff at our intimacy…

they doubt our sacred promises and vows…

they declare us to be illogical…

why won’t they understand that we’re in love?!”

I squinted… looked behind you, and could not see

the expressions of our enemies. Their faces seemed

so distorted, as if i was staring at a fog of darkened shadows.

So I gazed into your eyes, pulled you in close,

and argued, “No. They don’t understand. We’re

living a truth that’s hidden from their reality.”

Muse - Resistance

Is your secret safe tonight?
And are we out of sight?
Or will our world come tumblin' down?
Will they find our hiding place?
Is this our last embrace?
Or will the walls start caving in?

(choir : It could be wrong, could be wrong)
But it should've been right
(It could be wrong, could be wrong)
Let our hearts ignite
(It could be wrong, could be wrong)
Are we digging a hole?
(It could be wrong, could be wrong)
This is outta control
(It could be wrong, could be wrong)
It could never last
(It could be wrong, could be wrong)
Must erase it fast
(It could be wrong, could be wrong)
But it could've been right
(It could be wrong, could be)

Love is our resistance
They keep us apart and they won't stop breaking us down
And hold me, our lips must always be sealed

If we live our life in fear I'll wait a thousand years
Just to see you smile again
Quell your prayers for love and peace
You'll wake the thought police
We can hide the truth inside

(choir : It could be wrong, could be wrong)
But it should've been right
(It could be wrong, could be wrong)
Let our hearts ignite
(It could be wrong, could be wrong)
Are we digging a hole?
(It could be wrong, could be wrong)
This is outta control
(It could be wrong, could be wrong)
It could never last
(It could be wrong, could be wrong)
Must erase it fast
(It could be wrong, could be wrong)
But it could've been right
(It could be wrong, could be)

Love is our resistance
They keep us apart and won't stop breaking us down
And hold me, our lips must always be sealed

The night has reached its end
We can't pretend, we must run
We must run It's time to run ..
Take us away from here
Protect us from further harm

You have never talked to a mere mortal.

"You have never talked to a mere mortal.

Nations, cultures, arts civilisations - these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit - immortal horrors or everlasting splendours. This does not mean that we are to be perpetually solemn. We must play. But our merriment must be of that kind (and it is, in fact, the merriest kind) which exists between people who have, from the outset, taken each other seriously - no flippancy, no superiority, no presumption. And  our charity must be a real and costly love, with deep feeling for the sing in spite of which we love the sinner - no mere  tolerance, or indulgence which parodies love as flippancy parodies merriment. Next to the Blessed Sacrament itself, your neighbour is the holiest object presented to your senses. If he is your Christian neighbour, he is holy in almost the same way, for in him also Christ vere latitat - the glorifier and the glorified, Glory Himself, is truly hidden.”

-CS Lewis in The Weight of Glory

Outside of physical appearance, which fades as well, people contain souls that are everlasting.

So precious, and so delicate.  Actions of one can taint another’s soul with love, or with hatred. For one’s words don’t degrade or encourage another’s physical ability, but the stability of their souls.

Societal norms propel the importance of material commodities, which can brainwash people into indulgence in these goods. Goods that consume us, and sadly make us forget the fragility of the “immortal” inner human.

However, I don’t blame society. I blame humans for foolishly falling into this transparent trap.

Hopefully, I myself do not fall for it again.

Is the glass half empty or half full?

The ultimate test of how one views their life. A pessimist would view the glass to be half empty, an optimist would inversely believe it is half full.

However, I believe it is a test of conformity. When one picks a side, it is supposed to define their way of thinking; whether it be having a positive outlook, or negative outlook. If one were to choose the glass to be half empty, wouldn’t they be subjected to pick a pessimistic view and justify their opinion/outlook because they are proven to be “pessimistic?” The same goes for a glass full chooser.  As if we were doomed to pick one side, and argue against the other. We chose our own defined roads of thinking because of the answer to this question in the title. “Oh well I believe it is half empty, so thinking pessimistically, I MUST think this obstacle is impossible.” Conversely, an optimist would argue, “Hmm… The glass is half full. There must be a solution to this problem, and I will find it.”

Notice how this inevitably produces two different opposing view of the world. And universally, how this can produce conflict. World. Genocides, Mass destruction, Chaos. Ignorance. Intolerance.

Don’t sometimes we push our beliefs just because we’re “supposed to?” Is that not ignorance? That we ground our beliefs just because we’re accustomed to it, or because its “our answer to the question,” its the “path we chose” and its easier to “walk and not turn?” I think its foolish that sometimes we justify actions and views thinking they are facts, just because we’ve grown into them, and that we don’t think of other possibilities.

I am not saying that one should be groundless, I am not saying that one should not be firm in their beliefs. I am taking a different stance.

If the glass is half full, it must also be acknowledged that the glass is half empty. If the glass is half empty, it also must be acknowledge that the glass is half full. Different views, understood. This thinking reaps: Freedom of views, with a heart of discernment and understanding, and a mind of self control of temptations of false pretenses.

We are all ignorant. And sadly I am no exception.

Sin

There once lived an Motel Manager of Future Land in the year 3000.

He bought an area of green, full of life, and lush trees.

With fruits and vegetables in abundance.

The weather was perfect in such a way that it was sunny everyday, yet humid enough to provide moisture for the plants to thrive.

Everything was perfect.

The Motel Manager was happy.

.

.

It was in this unblemished area where he built a series of technological advanced motels.

These motels were very special indeed; very advanced stuff.

In order to meet the customers every need, each and every motel itself was created to be alive. Yes alive.

The Motel Manager had planned this from the beginning. Blueprints were analyzed, double checked. Supplies to build the rooms were the best of the best technology; the rooms were built to last for eternity.

The motel rooms were designed welcome and satisfy every need of the customer. Which was their one purpose. In this one purpose, they would be serving and glorifying the Motel Manager.

They did so. And loved the Motel Manager because He was their creator.

Everything was according to plan.

Everything was perfect.

The Motel Manager was happy.

.

.

But one day in Future Land, a terrible cockroach infestation came about.

The customers would of course not want to rent cockroach diseased rooms.

And the Motel Rooms knew this. And had a plan.

They accepted these dirty bugs into their kitchens, bathrooms, and even bedrooms.

The Motel Rooms went the easier way out. They believe that they found a “shortcut” to living. By accepting the cockroaches into their “bodies” no customer would buy the room. They no longer had to work!

They were completely consumed by these roaches.

And by this consumption, they failed to fulfill their Creators plan.

They deliberately turned their backs on the Motel Manager.

There was corruption.

The Motel Manager was sad.

.

.

For He knew of their fate.

Cockroaches would destroy… eat these homes from the inside out.

The rooms were doomed.

The Motel Manager was grieved, more by the fact that they disobeyed Him.

But out of love, he provided a way.

He hired a cleaner, a purifier if you will.

That whichever house were to accept him would be cleansed of cockroaches.

And would be saved for eternity.

.

.

Nature finally took its course.

Many were overshadowed by the pleasures of living with just cockroaches

And cursed this “savior.”

Called him an idiot and locked him out of their doors.

.

.

Only a few accepted him and were cleaned out.

Totally purged.

And were saved.

They knew of their mistakes, and turned to love the Motel Manager once again.

.

.

Each individual motel room CHOSE their fate.
